OUR MISSION

Christian Community of Mercy, is a ministry designed to allow children to develop wings that will allow them to soar now, in the future and for eternity. Our program is located in the heart of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Our mission is to allow the poorest children in San Pedro Sula to receive a bilingual education, learn computer programming, music and - most importantly - to encounter the unfailing love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. 

Christian Community of Mercy is located in the heart of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The community we serve is one of the poorest in the city. The children that we serve have few opportunities to escape poverty, violence and addiction. Many of the children we serve grow up in “the borders.” The borders are a cluster of shacks that border the river. For those that live in the borders, the river is the only water source they have to live. Many of these children are faced with the pressure of joining gangs or other terrible activities daily. The father is absent in many of these homes and many times children are forced to work to help support their families. The children in our community never grow up knowing the love of Christ nor the mighty plan that He has for each of their lives. Our heart is to help these children not just survive, but to thrive both now and for eternity!

With the help of our sponsors and partners, we are able to provide transportation to and from school, and daily after school activities such as tutoring, music lessons and mentoring. Through a quality bilingual education, our students will have open doors to successful opportunities in their futures. Our goal is that through education, each child will have access to a future free of poverty, violence and addiction. Each day our kids will receive tutoring to assist in their successful academic growth. Our kids are passionate about music and worship. We daily provide opportunities for our kids to learn music and instruments. It is our heart to continually create an atmosphere of worship as we teach these children how to be lead worshippers. By teaching computer skills, we are not only teaching a skill helpful for school, but also one that will create more job opportunities for our students in this technology driven world. Our ministry is committed to helping each child grow academically, socially and spiritually. To give kids Hope for today, tomorrow, and eternity
